Welcome Note from Preston Worley

I love Lexington and am proud to call it home.  This City has afforded my wife, Langdon, my son, Clark, and me many opportunities, and we are firm believers in giving back.

Since 2017, I have served and represented the 7th District on Lexington’s Urban County Council.  While on Council I supported:

No Increase in City Taxes

Increased Funding for Police

Increased Funding for Fire Department

Millions of dollars in Funding to support Local Small Business Assistance

$15M for New Roads and Paving (Lexington’s Biggest Investment)

Increased Funding for Parks and Recreation

New Sidewalks for Old Todds Road

$20M for Affording Housing Investment

Rental Assistance and Homelessness Prevention

We have accomplished a great deal, but there is more important work ahead of us.  Together, we must continue our dialog and our work together.  We need to take a hard look at crime in our city.  People in the 7th District and all over Lexington are concerned about property and violent crime in our neighborhoods.  Now, more than ever, it is important that we have leadership who understands the public safety concerns in Lexington, and is willing to work closely with the community and the police to address them. Lexington has the greatest police department in the nation and I have been unwavering in my support of them.  As your Councilmember I will continue to advocate for our police and for the support our brave officers deserve while protecting this city.

From Public Safety to maintaining our Streets and Roads, and our Parks, to fostering and celebrating our diversity and smart growth,  I appreciate and am honored to work with all of our 7th District partners and our neighborhoods from Squires to Andover Hills, Chilesburg to Woodhill, Fairways, Eastlake, and many, many more.

You are my neighbors.  I will continue to work hard for you, listen to you, and advocate for you.   Please remember to vote Worley for the 7th on Tuesday, November 8 or before if you are voting absentee or early.  Let’s work together to guide Lexington into its next great chapter.

Thank you,

-Preston
