Originally from nearby Richmond, I spent a lot of time here growing up, and especially since my time at UK when Lexington was my adopted home town, I’ve come to love this City and proudly call it home. My wife and I, with our dog Sam, enjoy many parts of our great city, but like many of you chose our home just a bit outside the Circle and in the 7th District.
Along with the honor of representing the people of the 7th District, my wife and I are both lawyers here in Lexington. I enjoy a diverse practice in several areas of the law, but my primary areas of interest are affordable and multifamily housing law.
One facet that drew me to practice law, is my dedication to community service and philanthropic passions. Along with serving the 7th District and practicing law, I work to raise funds for families and children who are dealing with specific healthcare needs, particularly pediatric oncology. During my undergraduate years at the University of Kentucky, I served as one of the early leaders for the University of Kentucky DanceBlue Dance Marathon. DanceBlue is a year-long, student-run fundraiser which culminates in an annual 24-hour dance marathon. I still serve that organization as the Chairman of the Golden Matrix Fund used to support the kids of the DanceBlue Kentucky Children’s Hospital Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Clinic, as well as research done at the Markey Cancer Center.
Along with Coaches for the Kids which also supports UK Children’s Hospital, I also serve on my neighborhood association board.
